Tomorrow is Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday. Elizabeth was born in Mayfair, London, as the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York, later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Queen. She became the longest-reigning British monarch in history on September 9, 2015, when she surpassed the reign of her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria.
Now, it’s clear that the British have a fondness for tea, in fact, the British consume sixty billion cups per year, according to the Tea and Infusions Organization. That’s more than nine hundred cups a year for every man, woman and child in Great Britain. But, how about the Queen? The longest-reigning British monarch is a fan of Assam and Earl Grey tea, and will always add the milk after the tea. Queen Elizabeth’s top teas can be found almost anywhere. So, you too can be sipping tea like a royal. Now, I don’t know if this quote is actually from the Queen, but she was once quoted as saying while hosting a party at Buckingham Palace that, “a bit of toast and tea goes a long way.” That quote goes a long way with me, because almost every night tea and toast help me say Good Night!

So, tomorrow, April 21th, let’s all raise a cuppa to Queen Elizabeth and wish her Happy Birthday!
