When I went to post my New Year’s wish for you, I was like OMG, I only posted twice in December, what must people be thinking? Perhaps, that I was vacationing in the South of France, or was helping out Santa at the North Pole, or maybe was working on a tea plantation in India, or that I was exploring the depths of Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, or maybe even whale watching in Monterey Bay, California- now as exciting as all of those sound… only two posts, because I was knee deep in Christmas preparations, probably like most of you. This year I was really making myself nuts, because my daughter and her family were coming to celebrate with us, and that hadn’t happened in years, so everything had to be Hallmark Christmas perfect.
But all the while I was shopping, decorating, baking, wrapping, cleaning, cooking, addressing Christmas cards, and making myself nuts in general, I always had a cup of tea in hand… and it helped soothe the savage Christmas beast in me. Now, I could get scientific and remind you that tea contains the amino acid L-theanine, which promotes relaxation, or that drinking tea lowers levels of the stress hormone cortisol, but in reality, a cup of tea is just comforting, calming, and soothing and that it can solve all of life’s problems – especially all the Christmas worries.
So, now that the holidays are behind me, I can get back to posting on a more regular basis, with always a cup of tea in hand.
