What to Do When You’re Feeling a Little Blue!

I’ve been feeling a little blue lately, you know down in the dumps. And with the days getting shorter and darker, sometimes I find it hard to “get up and go.” When the blues hit, all I want to do is binge watch old movies, stuff myself with carbs and just mope around. Now, I know you have been there too at some point, so you know exactly what I’m talking about.

But I needed to remind myself what makes me happy and get back on track. I had to consistently practice more of the things that make me feel daffodil yellow, instead of blueberry blue. So, here’s what I did. I watched the original Disney movie 101 Dalmatians – my favorite and had an afternoon tea party for one! On a silver serving tray, I used a place setting of one of my favorite Royal Copenhagen patterns and placed the tray my antique tea cart. On my tiered stand I arranged my savories, and tea sandwiches on the bottom tier, my scones with cream and jam in the middle and my sweet treats on top. My tea selection was Korakundah, a black tea from an estate in Nilgiri, India. I could feel myself turning yellow, with each bite and sip. And before the movie was even over and I had drunk the last of the tea, I was bright yellow! My perfect afternoon tea party for one and it was delightful!

So, the next time you’re feeling blueberry blue, turn that color to daffodil yellow with an afternoon tea party for one. Some advice though – don’t watch Disney’s Bambi or Dumbo because you’ll be blueberry blue for an exceptionally long time.
